The 5094 Flameproof Colour Display is a Microsoft Windows™ based PC with integral colour LCD display that can be installed and used in the hazardous area. It features a dedicated fibre optic comms connection for use with the Intrinsically Safe PLC9000 allowing the display of colour graphical mimics and data locally at the PLC. The advantages of colour and graphical representations of the operation and status of PLC controlled plant is well known, hence the use of SCADA systems at the surface of the mine for the overall monitoring and control.
An optional Fibre Optic Ethernet Network connection allows the PC to have network connectivity using CSL’s Intrinsically Safe Ethernet system (CSLNet) at 10/100Mbps, allowing mine wide information to be accessed locally and the possibility of personnel entering data and writing reports whilst still underground in the hazardous area.
A further option is to have either 8 or 16 Relays that are suitable for switching Flameproof circuits such as GEB pilots and interlocks. These are controlled via a fibre optic link from an Intrinsically Safe PLC (PLC9000) resulting in a ‘compact’ I.S./ FLP interface.
The unit is designed and certified to meet the ATEX Directive (94/9/EC) and be located in a hazardous area.
